Historische Dorfschmiede

Where once blacksmithing and rural life determined everyday life, today the old craft is preserved on a voluntary basis. On two days a year, the smithy's art is demonstrated during an open day. On all days of the year a nice place to stay.

Historische Dorfschmiede

The "barn of craftsmanship" "Büntmaas", village smithy in the village Holzhausen II dates back to 1747. The half-timbering of the house is completely preserved and lined with bricks. The gable of the half-timbered house contains the dated inscription. The blacksmith's shop was listed in 1989 and turned into a museum where you can see the old, well-preserved tools. Two days a year there is an open day where the blacksmith's art and reep beating are demonstrated. Other action days are also organized annually by the Holzhausen II local history society.
